Thomas Rector

Thomas Rector (1908-2002) lived in Halfway River, Cumberland County, NS. He began carving at age 82 after a career in farming and lumbering. He first exhibited in the early '90's and later showed at the Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival held annually in Lunenburg, NS. He is perhaps best know for his stickmen carvings made from forked tree branches. Tom was the father of Stanley Rector, another folk artist..
