Description - This very accurate wood carving is attached to a dried hardwood tree mushroom. The feathers are carved and not painted but colored by a hot flame. Also known as the Acadian owl, this bird is very small, 7-8 inches high and weighing 3-4 oz.  It is nocturnal and hunts at dusk and dawn for deer mice by patiently waiting on a low tree branch.
