Description - acrylic paint on wood board, framed with rope. The wood surface is chiseled to create an illusion of depth to the waves. Built in 1921, the Bluenose was a Canadian fishing and racing schooner. For 17 years she held the International Fishermen’s Trophy. She later worked as a freighter and while loaded with bananas sank near Haiti. bluenose reconstructionA replica Bluenose II was built in 1963 and sailed out of Lunenburg as a tourist attraction during the summer months.
